Certified pediatric nurse practitioner Tammy Shimfessel has devoted her career to caring for children for the past three decades. She began her career in a pediatric intensive care unit before moving into a primary care role. She loves the diversity of the ages and the medical conditions of the patients she sees. She especially enjoys helping patients with developmental issues, behavioral challenges and nutritional difficulties. Regardless of medical condition, she offers compassion and listens to both her patients and their parents. Being outdoors, reading and enjoying the arts are all pastimes for Tammy. She is married and has two stepchildren. In her free time, she loves cooking, traveling and going to musical events with her family.
